• Christian Louboutin, Bringing New Meaning to Spiked Heels

    Feb. 19, 2012, 9:36 p.m.

When Christian Louboutin launched his gorgeous collection of shoes in 1991, he said that he wanted to create shoes that looked like jewels. I certainly understand and appreciate this desire as a devout connossieur of his sexy stilettos. At the time, I am sure that he didn't imagine that he'd be designing shoes that would also act as weapons. Meet the spiked Christian Louboutin heels. Yes, they are insanely gorgeous, and, yes, I proudly own a pair of black spiked peep toes, which I bought at Berfdorf's a couple years ago, but, every time I wear them, I stab myself and everyone around me!

Apparently, I am not the only one who has Louboutin battle wounds--J Lo punctured herself with a pair of her own while presenting at the Grammy's last year. After my scarring experience (literally), I decided to limit their use to business meetings and other events that don't require a lot of movement. Bar-hopping is absolutely out of the question. Recently, I have been coveting this silver pair of spiked stilettos that I stumbled upon a couple weeks ago. Ordinarily, I would succumb, but there are so many other stunning pairs of shoes this spring that won't cause me bodily harm. That said, I can't stop thinking about these heels combined with The Cher Bra with Bling and The Jayde Moto Jacket. My, oh my, what a killer outfit that would be! I'm not going to give in, but I certainly hope that one of you does!
