A few months ago, I stepped outside of my comfort zone and anxiously ordered a pair of Current/Elliott polka-dotted jeans. I have never liked polka dots, even when I was in grade school. Though I do recall being extremely competitive about my denim collection. I had Guess jeans in virtually every color of the rainbow. This particular pair of jeans stood out to me because they're my favorite skinny cut and the pattern is subtle yet fashion-forward. After thinking about them for several days, I thought, "Hey, I might as well order them. If I don't like them, I will simply return them." A couple days later, my package arrived, and much to my surprise, the instant I slipped them on, I had a new denim obsession. They fit perfectly and they also complemented my BodyRock wardrobe tremendously. That night, I had a birthday party to go to, so I decided to rock my fave new jeans with The Cher Bra from The Zip 'em Up Collection, a pair of studded McQueen booties, my jumbo Chanel bag, and a studded Haute Hippie razorback tank. I felt like a million bucks. For the next couple weeks, I wore the jeans so much that it became embarassing. It was time to tuck them away in my closet for a bit. Last week, I was in the mood to wear them again, and I couldn't find them. Luckily, my man knew were they were. Excitedly, I threw them on with a cream-colored Prada sweater that I have had for years with The Lakshmi Bra from The Yoganista Collection and my Miu Miu high-tops. We headed to an art exhibit in style. Same pair of jeans, totally different look. Different BodyRock bra, same amazing feeling and level of versatility.
Style, I've realized, is an outer expression of your character. There are no rules to follow. The only rule I follow is to buy items that I LOVE and that make me happy, and to rock them like a boss bitch. I'd suggest you do the same. Confidence is POWER.
